《美丽最少年》是用双第一人称的叙述方式开展的。两位主人公一个叫小绪，一个叫与离。小绪是一个在法国生活的小孩，初中又回到了国内。与离生活在一个不幸福的家庭，父亲被母亲杀死，母亲坐牢，5岁被迫和自己的亲生哥哥分开，分别被不同的亲戚代养。整个故事讲述了两个少年追逐幸福和梦想的故事。小绪的幽默阳光,与离的沉默感伤，整个故事都充斥着淡淡的灰色阳光和血性淡漠。两个人物在小说的中部有交集，通过一部叫做《美丽最少年》的舞台剧将彼此集合在一起，共同在舞台和文字上去体会和懂得什么样的少年才是最少...
