Het werk van illustrator Jan Bosschaert vind je in zowat elke Vlaamse kinderboekenkast. Hij ontwierp de covers en tekeningen voor talloze boeken van Marc de Bel. Daarnaast is hij ook een gevierd striptekenaar, bekend van zijn eigen reeks Sam en De Geverniste Vernepelingskes waarin hij - samen met Urbanus - bekend Vlaanderen letterlijk in zijn blootje zette.
