  • He was taught to play by Bill "Howl-N-Mad" Perry and Richard "Daddy Rich" Crisman at a museum's arts and education program.
  • Ingram attended Clarksdale's Pinetop Perkins Workshop Experience every summer.
  • Perry nicknamed him "Kingfish" after a character in The Amos 'n' Andy Show.
