As the Dean of Agriculture at Cornell University, Bailey significantly advanced the institution's prominence in agricultural sciences. He authored over 60 books, including "The Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture," and was a founding member of the American Society for Horticultural Science. Bailey's extensive work in promoting scientific agriculture, rural development, and conservation left a lasting impact on American agricultural practices and education.
