Today I chat with a mother of one named Mirjana.
Mirjana talks about the ambivalence of motherhood,
how she stepped into the role of mother despite not
previously feeling like a "maternal person".
She shares how having a straightforward pregnancy
does not always lead to a straightforward birth,
and the feelings of isolation after the honeymoon
period is over. When the hormonal shifts and sleep
deprivation really kick in and your partner has
returned to work.
We touch on the common and normal experience
of intrusive thoughts and mostly how important
it is to have some support measures in place for
when your baby arrives.
