Meet the trailblazers! I am thrilled to share our latest podcast episode featuring two incredible guests who are making waves in male-dominated industries.
In this episode, I had the pleasure of hosting two remarkable guests: Deputy Chief Ana Navarro and Taylor Shead, founder and CEO of Stimuli. Both women have carved out impressive careers in male-dominated fields, and their stories are filled with resilience, inspiration, and valuable lessons.
Ana Navarro shared her journey from enlisting in the Marine Corps to becoming a Deputy Chief in the McKinney Police Department. She emphasized the importance of competence and credibility, particularly for women in law enforcement, and how she has worked to create a more inclusive environment for future female officers. Ana's experiences highlight the significance of mentorship and the impact of having strong role models, especially from her mother, who instilled a strong work ethic in her.
Taylor Shead, on the other hand, discussed her path as a trailblazer in AI education and workforce development. She shared her unique upbringing and how it shaped her perspective on resilience and leadership. Taylor's insights into the venture capital space, particularly as a Black woman, shed light on the challenges and biases that exist. She also emphasized the importance of betting on oneself and learning from failures.
Throughout our conversation, both Ana and Taylor highlighted the need for women to support one another and to advocate for inclusivity in their respective fields. They shared practical advice for navigating challenges, such as knowing your stuff, embracing failure as a learning opportunity, and surrounding oneself with supportive individuals.
