What does Plant Based mean? Should I do it? How do food manufacturers make plants into burgers and chicken? In case y’all have missed it, the term Vegan Diet has been rebranded by the food industry as Plant Based, which has only added to the confusion about whether or not eliminating animal products is the best way to eat. In today’s episode, I discuss the three primary reasons people are pondering plant based, which are the health benefits, the animals and the climate. These are all important issues to address and I dig in a bit to all of them. I also get into the bigger issues, the ones that seem to continue to slip through the cracks as people debate about what diet is best, who is right and who is wrong. While there is this ongoing distraction about ‘to meat or not to meat’ that is in the spotlight, some problematic and important details are sneaking around in the dark. I share information that everyone needs to know, regardless of what diet you choose. If you are Vegan, this episode is for you! If you are Keto or Paleo, this episode is for you! If you are human and eat food, this episode is for you. No one diet is right for everyone and if it were that easy, we would all have figured it out by now. My hope is this episode will encourage everyone to feel educated, equipped and free to choose without judgement. It is also my hope that we will be more inclined to unite on the right know and to choose, even when our choice differs from another.
