First, a special thank you to @942studios for amazing work recording, producing, and editing this podcast! This is our first podcast recording. We are two women in our 20s & 30s, respectively, who are co-workers, classmates, and friends. Sarah has always considered making a podcast, and Adrian is the perfect person to host with because we both listen to podcasts often, and we become excited and eager when we talk to each other and bounce ideas off of each other. The ideals behind what we do is to have long-form nuanced conversations about issues that are complex and require more than a phrase or cursory glance. Discussions are the best way to learn, grow, and develop. We also agree that everyone has a stake in issues because personal lives are integrated and interwoven with politics, social issues, and movements. This episode we get into how the Aziz Ansari level of sexual harassment fits into the #MeToo spectrum. We talk about our own flawed initial reactions and then we delve into male allies who often deflect to #NotAllMen status when confronted with the ubiquitous nature of rape culture in this country.
