Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Yesterday, our friend Ian Crabb was laid to rest in Bournemouth. In honor of him, we want to present you with his favorite episode of In Defence Of, a show he proudly hosted with distinction on our network, from 2015 to 2017. That episode was Alien 3, a film Ian felt very strongly was unfairly maligned.
In many ways, this episode was the epitome of what Ian had always hoped IDO would be – a film that divided people being discussed in engaging, thoughtful ways. It was also a thrill for him to cohost alongside Erik Woods, who joined us on this episode. As we prepare for his celebration episode, to be released later this week, we hope you’ll join us in remembrance of Ian, as we revisit his favorite episode of In Defence Of.
