In episode 6, author Ron Huggins and Sandra Tanner join us to discuss Ron’s new book, Lighthouse: Jerald and Sandra Tanner, Despised and Beloved critics of Mormonism. For years the Tanners together ran—and today Sandra still runs—the Utah Lighthouse Ministry. Living and operating just blocks from the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Tanners have dedicated their lives to informing people of what they believe to be the truth about Mormonism and leading people to traditional Christianity. After sixty years in the business, Sandra has some stories to tell, and Ron has documented many of them in this important biography. No matter how one feels about their work, the influence the Tanners have had on LDS history and its accessibility cannot be dismissed.
