Manage episode 451458070 series 3552299
England O60s are undertaking a 5 week tour of Australia which involves 14 matches including five ODI's v Australia, who of course beat England in the O60s World Cup final in Chennai in March.
In the last episode we talked with England O60s captain Edward Gordon Lennox so we are delighted to welcome to this episode of the podcast Australia O60s captain Peter Jensen.
Peter looks ahead to the series and gives us some insights into the Australia preparation including working with a squad (because of the logistics) of just 13 players. He talks about how hard it was to narrow the numbers down to just 13.
The first Grey Ashes Australia v England ODI is at the Bradman Oval in Bowral on November 24th.
The other four Grey Ashes ODI's are:
2nd ODI - Nov 28th - Caulfield Park, Caulfield, Melbourne
3rd ODI - Dec 6th - Tanunda Oval, Adelaide
4th ODI - Dec 13th - College Park Oval Perth
5th ODI - Dec 15th - Fletcher Park, Perth
You can follow all the action on the England O60s Facebook page which will also provide links to live coverage on You Tube.
The scores of the England matches, including the ODI's can be found on the England Seniors Play Cricket site
And congratulations to Richard West from Berkshire Seniors who was first out the hat in the competition to win a signed copy of David Tossell's new book 'Blood on the Tracks'. Richard correctly identified that it was David Lloyd who was famous;y hit in the box on that 74/74 tour by Jeff Thomson.
David Lloyd did play twice for Lancashire O70s in 2024 so if we can persuade him to come on the podcast grant can ask him about the box incident.
