What we will learn in this lesson

• The Holy Spirit helps by empowering us to follow Jesus/life as an evangelist
• God is going to work with infinite power
• Focus on God's power not our weakness
• Our need to be in a disposition to receive the power of the Holy Spirit
  • wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord
• We need to give God our "YES!"
• The Seven Gifts of The Holy Spirit are the key
• The holy Spirit activates gifts inside of us
• Pray for docility to receive the Holy Spirit
• We need to live a life of virtues:
  • wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, reverence (piety), wonder and awe in God's presence (fear of the Lord) Fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, chastity
• We must live the Truth of Catholic Church and preach it
• Live a sacramental life
• Follow Jesus' way of life
• Follow the lives of the saints
• Following Jesus through the power of The Holy Spirit
  1. You are called to follow Jesus’s footsteps as a disciple
  2. Do you actively call on the Holy Spirit to help you follow Jesus, especially challenging situations where you are tempted to sin?
  3. Does following Jesus seem impossible to you?
  4. The Sacraments are the spiritual food for following Jesus. What are your spiritual goals?
  5. Ask The Holy Spirit to show you how to draw closer to Jesus.
  6. Fr. Jacob talks about opening up your sails so that you can receive the Holy Spirit. Do you feel that is your reality or maybe you feel some blockage like fear, wanting to control what He does in your life.
