Passion Week 2024-Part 2 Good Friday Service John 19:17-18, 28-30 Pastor Phil Ballmaier 3-29-24 Tonight we gather to commemorate the evening that Jesus laid down His life for us all. He was betrayed, beaten, spat upon, scourged, mocked and shamed. In the Garden of Gethsemane He was betrayed with a kiss... by one of His own, Judas. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:3-5 May your hearts be filled with love, passion and joy, that He has sacrificed all to make a way for us to draw close to God, and become one of His own!
