Hold onto your iPod Classic and crank up the Green Day because we're time-traveling back to the week of 19 September 2004! 🚀
If you were glued to The Weather Channel, you might remember Hurricane Jeanne 🌪️. This Category 3 beast tore through the Caribbean and Florida with winds strong enough to blow away your summer BBQ plans (and maybe your roof). Jeanne became the deadliest hurricane since '98, giving us all some serious disaster-movie vibes. 😬

Meanwhile, over at Apple HQ, Steve Jobs dropped the iMac G5 💻, which was just 2 inches thick (futuristic for 2004 standards). It was sleek, white, and the perfect desktop for those of us who loved tech that looked like it came from a spaceship 🛸.

Now let’s talk music 🎧. Maroon 5 was crooning "She Will Be Loved" 💔, and over in the UK, Eric Prydz's "Call On Me" 🎶 was getting everyone to hit the gym—thanks to that infamous aerobics video. On the edgier side, Green Day unleashed their magnum opus, American Idiot, sending teens everywhere into full-on rebellion mode. 🤘 Sixteen million albums sold, and a whole generation screaming “Don't wanna be an American Idiot!”

On the small screen 📺, we got a double dose of awesome with the debut of Veronica Mars 🔍, the snarky teen detective we didn’t know we needed, and the mind-bending premiere of Lost 🛬. That opening scene with the plane crash? Jaw. Dropping.

And we can’t forget Shaun of the Dead 🧟, which landed in US theaters and gave us the perfect rom-zom-com combo—zombies, laughs, and a good ol' pint at The Winchester 🍺.

Ahh, 2004. Simpler times, emo bangs, and all.
