Asosiasi ini berdiri sejak 17 November 1992, AREBI telah memiliki andil yang sangat besar dalam perkembangan penjualan properti, bahkan hingga saat ini, ketum AREBI selalu bisa membawa asosiasi ini ke level yang selalu lebih tinggi. Setiap 3 tahun sekali AREBI mengganti pimpinannya, pada periode 2018-2021 salah satu orang terbaik di AREBI pun terpilih yaitu Lukas Bong. Lukas Bong terpilih sebagai Ketua Umum (Ketum) AREBI Periode 2018-2021 setelah diadakan voting pada pemilihan ketum di Munas VIII di ICE BSD, Serpong, Tangerang Selatan, 14 September 2018.
