Welcome back to the show! Today, Larry and Matt are joined in the studio by two legends of the sport- Adrian Demain and Miki Vuckovich- to dissect the 1980 oddball odyssey, Skateboard Madness! While there’s no real way for anyone to pinpoint what this meandering film aspires to be- part skateboarding documentary and part road-trip comedy with roller skating, stop-motion, claymation and animated sequences thrown in- what cannot be disputed is the obvious and undeniable groundwork it helped to lay for star Stacy Peralta to bring to the early Bones Brigade videos that would follow just a few years later, where many of the movie’s scenes and themes would be repurposed and reimagined for the next generation.
