An Academy Award Winning Make-Up and Effects Artist. A legend with an absolutely incredible resumé. My guest on Episode 232 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is John Caglione Jr. He earned his Academy Award for his make-up effects on "Dick Tracy" in 1990. He created Heath Ledger's "Joker" make-up in "The Dark Knight". He is Al Pacino's "go-to" guy and has worked with him on a ton of projects including "The Irishman", "Heat", "Paterno", "Insomnia" and "Donnie Brasco" to name a few. Dick Smith aka "The Godfather of Make-up" took John under his wing and gave him a shot. He has gone on to work on hundreds of movies and television shows combined including, "The Departed", "American Gangster", "Fatal Attraction", "The Amazing Spiderman" and "Amistad". His early experiences were on helping to create the "Coneheads" make-up on "Saturday Night Live", "Friday the 13th Part 2", "C.H.U.D.", "Basket Case" and "Scanners". Thats all just scratching the surface. His humility and gratitude are second to none and this was a lot of fun to do. Enjoy.
