Although Youssef didn’t initially have a clear idea of his future career, he always knew he was destined to make a positive impact on the world. Throughout his extensive career in retail, Youssef consistently excelled by developing a passion for training, self-development, and creating efficient systems to deliver consistent results in both sales and operations. His first significant opportunity to showcase these skills came when he was appointed General Manager for a WIND Mobile franchise. Over three years, he successfully opened seven locations, establishing one of the top franchise operations in Canada.
After building a thriving retail operation, Youssef decided to pivot and moved to Montreal to pursue a career in financial planning. However, fate had other plans. A chance encounter with his former boss led to a proposal to revolutionize the smartphone repair industry in Canada by reinventing the customer experience. Seizing the opportunity, Youssef joined Mobile Klinik Professional Smartphone Repair in May 2015 as Employee #1. During his tenure, he developed the company’s processes, in-store systems, and led the Training and Development department, supporting both new and existing stores.
In just six years, Youssef played a key role in expanding Mobile Klinik to over 90 locations, making it the largest and most trusted smartphone repair chain in Canada. In 2020, Telus acquired the business for $165 million, marking the pinnacle of Youssef’s career.
However, while Youssef was celebrating the success of Mobile Klinik, the COVID-19 pandemic presented significant challenges for many business owners around him. Witnessing these struggles, Youssef felt a strong desire to use his expertise to help others overcome obstacles and grow their businesses. This realization led him to establish GRND Consulting, a company dedicated to helping business owners scale their operations into multi-location brands by focusing on purpose, passion, and process.
