Hey kids, welcome into your Tuesday, the 5th day of October. It's National (are you ready for this?) National BE NICE day! So, there you go! It's like the TCN Mornings opener was written just for this day! "The choice is yours so choose with care, to help or hurt, to keep or share...but kindness is the answer everywhere! National BE NICE day. But my question is this, WHY just one day? Of course, I wonder that about national donut day, too! I'm thinking EVERY day should be National BE NICE day. How 'bout it, huh?

Well, happy birthday to YOU, if today happens to be your birthday! And if it IS your birthday, you share the day with someone I thought you might want to hear about. His name was Ray Kroc. I actually wrote and recorded this story about 10 years ago. It’s called the Ray Kroc Story, and it starts right now...

And there it is! A perfect example of what is known as The American Dream! Ray Kroc's parents were immigrants from the area of Bohemia in Central Europe. They came to America to make a better life for themselves and their family. Ray was actually born in America, but even as a child, he grew up knowing how to dream big and work hard toward a better life for himself and for those he could help along the way. So, what kind of dreams do you have for your future. Are you prepared set goals for yourself and work hard beginning now to turn those dreams into reality? And while you’re at it, are you prepared to help others along your way? Just some things to think about on this Tuesday morning.

Okay, Now... It's time for the QUESTION OF THE DAY! You remember toward the beginning, we talked about Ray Kroc's parents being immigrants to America from Bohemia. So here's the question. Where was Bohemia, and what is it called today?

Now, about yesterday’s question of the day... you remember that yesterday was Cinnamon Bun Day, and we had some fun with that, but your question was: You know that cinnamon comes in powder form in a small bottle from the store, but your question is WHAT is cinnamon, and where does it come from? (You know, before it gets ground up and put in small bottles and delivered to the store...) WHAT is cinnamon and where does it come from?

Well, Ollie, from Sharon Pennsylvania says cinnamon is a spice. It comes from the inner bark of a cinnamon tree, and there are several kinds of cinnamon trees. When the bark is removed from parts of the tree, the outer rough part is scraped off, and the inner part is dried. It can be rolled up as it dries, making cinnamon sticks, Then, once it is dried, it can also be ground into a powder, and then it’s ready to be sprinkled on food. And, Ollie, that is exactly correct, so thank you for that answer! And by the way, most cinnamon trees grow in Southeast Asia in countries like Sri Lanka. Indonesia, China, and Vietnam.
