Grande Dame, aka Tiff McGinnis, is a self-taught multi-media artist specialising in hyper-coloured illustration and animation. Originally from the US, she has been based in the UK since 2001. Grande Dame, aka Tiff McGinnis, is a self-taught multi-media artist specialising in hyper-coloured illustration and animation. Originally from the US, she has been based in the UK since 2001.

Now before tiff was an artist, she was, signed to the record label Tummy Touch under the moniker Crazy Girl. She began to teach herself to animate by making music videos for her songs. Her release, High Tide Hell, was her very first animation. It became an underground sensation and was shown on Albert Hoffman's 100th birthday. Now for those who don't know who Albert Hoffman is, let's say he's the first man that tripped balls on acid in the name of science. I can picture some hippie at a trans festival saying I'm doing this in the name of science. The song did not stop there, though. It was featured in January 2006 in Basel, Switzerland, at the LSD Symposium. That foray into moving images began an odyssey that continues decades later.

Grande Dame has made dozens of animated music videos showing her work globally. Licensed music to The Coen Brothers, she is a published songwriter with BMG. Licensed videos to Spike & Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation. Her animations featured in an ad for Apple created a successful sticker pack for the app store, which was number one for a week beating Mickey Mouse. She created a successful sticker pack for Facebook and collaborated on a shoe line with late couture footwear designer Terry de Havilland. Co-designed lights with late light artist Chris Bracey, sold out art shows at established galleries, designed animated zodiac for world-famous astrologers – The Astrotwins, created fabric designs for a Burning Man Mutant Vehicle, and has had nearly 2 billion views of her GIFs on Giphy.
