The Good Brothers seems to do their best work on episodes with big round numbers, and this week's episode is no exception as they welcome back good friend of the show and Batman: The Animated Series veteran director Kevin Altieri to the show to discuss the monumental episode "Bane." Kevin talks about adapting a character so quickly after being introduced to the main comic continuity, how he and series producer overcame initial disdain for the Bane character to make him fit into the DCAU, the Lucha Libre influence the drew from for the show and whether they ever considered adapting the Knightfall story and how he would have executed it in the DCAU. He also tells an incredible tale about Bruce Timm single-handedly storyboarding the final act of the episode in less than 24 hours, meeting with Lolita Ritmanis to discuss music and how much input the directors had on that aspect of the show, and a heart-warming and moving reflection on his relationship with Kevin Conroy over the years. All of this and he offers his own scorecard for the episode and a few other stories along the way for a highly entertaining perspective on this legendary BTAS episode.
