Ian O'Rourke, a seasoned entrepreneur and EO Sydney member for nine years, has a rich history in the startup industry with over 25 years of experience. Ian has founded, scaled, and exited several companies in various sectors, including real estate and entertainment. He is currently running Athena, a SaaS business providing competitive intelligence to major global brands.
Ian's journey began in the early days of e-commerce, selling enterprise software in the US. He later founded a successful DVD vending machine business in Australia, which was sold to Hoyts. Athena, Ian's latest venture, has grown into a large SaaS business operating on three continents with over 150 employees.
Ian's commitment to strategic planning, continuous innovation, and strong leadership has been key to his success. Despite facing significant challenges, he has continually expanded his business into new markets. His story is a testament to resilience, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit.
