Dr Seward tells of Lucy’s Burial in his diary. Before the funeral, Van Helsing again covered Lucy in Garlic, and now places a crucifix into her mouth. He tells a very confused Seward that after the funeral, and once everyone has left the graveyard, that they must cut off Lucy’s head, and remove her heart. The following day however, Van Helsing finds that someone has stolen the cross from Lucy’s body, and he tells Seward that they will have to wait before anything can be done. Looking at Lucy’s body, Arthur Holmwood can barely believe that he is looking at his partner. Van Helsing asks Arthur if he can look at Lucy’s diary, hoping that he can gather any information from them that will aid him in proving his assumptions.
Mina, still unaware of Lucy’s passing, writes that while her and Jonathan were in London, they sawa a tall darkhaired man with a thick moustache and beard. Jonathan is certain that this man in Dracula, but is confused as he has somehow de-aged. Once they get home, Jonathan passes into a deep sleep, being scared out of his wits at the sight of Dracula and Mina decides that she must read his Diary entries from his time with the Count.
That evening, Mina receives news of Lucy’s death. This message is followed by a newspaper clipping stating that several children have been abducted near where Lucy was buried. When found, the children all seem to have strange marks on their necks…
