Much of Scripture has been hijacked by wrong theology due to philosophical presuppositions, seeking to interpret passages from a Western mindset, and attempting to spiritualize or allegorize its meaning. When we understand the passage within the literary genre, cultural context, and surrounding context, we often discover that what we've heard doesn't match with what God's word actually says.

This is the case with 1 Corinthians 9:27, where some teach that Paul was concerned with the possibility of forfeiting his salvation, or losing it, should he not continue living a disciplined life. But is that really what 1 Corinthians 9:27 means?

This video uncovers the surrounding context and how understanding the previous chapter and Paul’s discussion regarding food sacrificed to pagan gods sheds light on what he means about being found a castaway.
