#300 Lessons from 300 Episodes
Manage episode 380143144 series 3394005
The Good Citizen Podcast launched in February of 2017, and I am so grateful for the listeners and the supporters of our ministry that have made this podcast possible during the last six years. Just a few minor developments have occurred in America public life since 2017! I started the podcast with a simple question: “As followers of Jesus that are also called to be good citizens, what should we do now?” There are a number of news sources and political pundits, but I did not see enough shows/programs giving Biblical guidance and practical information on how to live out the Christian faith in public life. That is what we set out to do, and I am so encouraged by the response and the number of practical conversations we have had with key national voices and local ministry leaders. I am looking forward to continuing the conversation as we pass the 300 episode milestone and prepare for 2024!
Here are 7 key lessons from 300 episodes on Christian citizenship:
Opportunities:
- Christian citizenship is best done in community.
- The door to church-state partnerships is wide open.
- Generational wins are possible
Challenges
- The religious left is rising.
- The sexual revolution has moved from acceptance to enforcement.
- The church has a pendulum problem.
Conclusion:
As John Stonestreet says, “The church is God’s plan A, and there is no plan B.”
