142: Noir from Nagoya - with Stephen J. Golds
Manage episode 379251753 series 3307389
We're joined this week by British author Stephen J. Golds from his home in Nagoya, Japan. Regular listeners to the show will know that we are big fans of Japanese culture, so it was a real pleasure to speak to Stephen about his experiences of living and working in Japan for the past 17 years. Originally from London, Stephen is the author a series of hard-boiled noir novels, which until recently were published by Red Dog Press, which closed in August. We ask Stephen how that has impacted on him as an author, about his plans for a new series, and how poetry provided the gateway to becoming a writer.
Also this week, we discuss industry concerns about Spotify's plans to offer 15 hours of free audiobook content to subscribers each month, and Rebecca reflects on a weekend of travel challenges in rain-soaked Edinburgh.
