A month after the Pirates bought at the trade deadline, are they on the verge of placing players on waivers to lesser payroll? What will the payroll look like next season? Will it jump over $100M? Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. The guys asked Ray about the Steelers finalized 53-man roster and if the Steelers had any moves blocked on waivers. What are the odds the Steelers still manage to acquire Brandon Aiyuk? Ray explained how the team could fill the role at slot corner if they don’t like their in-house options. The guys had Ray run through some of the injuries and if Troy Fautanu will be ready to go. With the injury to Isaac Seumalo, is Spencer Anderson ready to go? Ray expects Roman Wilson to also be inactive for the first game. How will things work out with the RB dynamic as the season goes on? Ray thinks the Steelers defense can be all-around top 10 in the league. Pirates pre-post game host Dan Zangrilli joined the show. Dan thinks Derek Shelton could be back next season and went through a few others that could be back in ’25 as well. Dan said someone like John Baker in player development deserves his fair share of blame for why the Pirates look the way they do because they have created minimal amount of impact bats in the majors.
