In this special episode, @ElaynaChrisitine sits down with Sonia Aimy, singer/songwriter, and the Executive Director of the African Women Acting to dissect the art of making music from the spirit and to discuss the upcoming African Women Acting Festival. The 4th edition of the AWA Festival 2019 presented by the African Women Acting organization celebrates the late legendary Miriam Makeba by highlighting this year’s theme and attraction in her honor “Tribute to Miriam Makeba”. The annual festival returns on Saturday May 11th from 2:00pm-10:00pm inside the Centre for Social Innovation Annex (CSI Annex), located at 720 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON. The bi-annual festival recognizes talented, hard-working African women, who have demonstrated tremendous effort in pursuing their artistic visions, careers and social/political activism.
