“Ayo…Send us a DM”

On Episode 089, today's guest hails from Ohio, and is currently an ATLien (Atlanta Georgia). He’s a Beatmaker, Musician, Twitch /YouTube Creator Collaborator, Sound Kit Designer, Controllerise member and Nusong Inc creator. Please welcome one of my sensei’s JFilt from Howtomakeverysickbeats.com to the show. Enjoy!
During this episode, we chopped it up about his signature moniker, musical upbringings/inspirations. JFilt grew up in a Christian household, playing instruments (piano/trumpet/organ). He was gifted a keyboard and that started his sampling journey. He names his Greatest Beats of All Time from De La Soul’s “Stakes Is High” produced by J DILLA. He names his Beatmaker/Music Producer Superheros…Quincy Jones, J DILLA, RZA & Q-Tip. JFilt started creating music with his keyboards then moved up to music gear trying to avoid G.A.S (Gear Acquisition Syndrome). And since then, he creates with a myriad of equipment i.e. Akai’s MPC2000XL, Roland’s SP303, SP404SX and SP404 MKII and more software and technologies. JFilt gave details about some of his 🔥 albums “Weekly Practice Series”, “Knodville Series” & “PO” inspired by Teenage Engineering’s Pocket Operator. JFilt left crazy jewels and inspiring words for Beatmakers and detailed what's in store for 2023.
JFilt’s Recommendation:
1. Subscribe to JFILT’s YouTube Channel, and keep learning.
2. Listen to an artist you like and go through their entire Discography
3. Read Steal This Sound by Mitchell Sigmand
Intro Track: Oh La La from Iman Omari Flips Anthology by Iman Omari
