Dr. Rebecca McLaughlin holds a Ph.D. in Renaissance Literature from Cambridge University and a theology degree from Oak Hill College in London. She is the author of several books, including Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World's Largest Religion (2019), which was named book of the year by Christianity Today, and Does the Bible Affirm Same-Sex Sexual Relationships? (2024). In this conversation, we talk about her latest book. We address various arguments for same-sex marriage, talk about the idolatry of marriage and the beauty of singleness, and also celebrate the radical call to follow Jesus, which leads to a meaningful and flourishing life—even when we are picking up our crosses and denying ourselves.
