Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Hello, I’m Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione Aaron Emig: And I’m Aaron Emig Season of Christmas The Question for the season…What is the greatest Christmas gift ever? This week’s Gospel comes from: Luke 2:1-20 Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: We hear the saying, “Jesus is the reason for the season” and it reminds us of who Christmas is all about. But I would like to propose that we are also the reason for the season. We are the reason why Jesus was sent by the Father to take on human flesh. God saw how mankind stumbling in the darkness of a materialistic world. We are sometimes still stumbling in the darkness. Jesus came and continues to come in each of our lives to be that light that shines in the darkness. The baby that was born that blessed night was and still is the greatest of all gifts. Aaron Emig: The Nativity Scene…what a scene! Jesus was born to humans and into poverty…Mary and Joseph were basically homeless… The shepherds were so excited to see the nativity scene…that they went and praised God and told people what they saw and heard. In life, we are so excited when a baby is born…you anticipate the coming of the baby into the world… After the child is born…everyone comes to visit, many pictures are shared and everyone is telling everyone that the baby is now born… We get excited about a new child and we should… But how excited are we every Christmas when we celebrate the birth of Jesus? Are we telling everyone that He has arrived? Are we praising God for giving His Son as gift to all humanity? Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Jesus is the reason for the season, true. But we are also the reason for the season. He comes to each of us Christmas day and every day of our lives to unite us in and to His Life. We are united to the One who was born on Christmas Day so that we may be reborn on Easter Sunday. Aaron Emig: We focus on the birth of Jesus every Christmas… He’s the center of this holiday… Why not make Jesus the center focus every day in our lives? Let’s build that relationship with Jesus through daily prayer and the daily Gospel. Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Wisdom Words for the Week Jesus is the Gift of the Father to us. We are the gift of Jesus Christ to His Father. Aaron Emig: Transformation Tool “The Jesus Question” CD from Matthew Kelly Matthew talks about how God created us for happiness He also mentions if we don’t do anything else in our lives…the one thing is to get to know the Shepard Free copies at Morris Hall on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. Only while supplies last Aaron Emig: Transformation Tuesdays Prayer…“Jesus, how do You want me to transform my life today?” Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Merry Christmas and God Bless from Ss.
