In class, we spend one week reading and reflecting on the work of those who are part of the Chicana Feminist Epistemology tradition. The group that signed up to produce the podcast this week all identify as Hispanic or Latinx or Chicana or Mexican American or are in their own journey figuring out where they fit. So for this group especially the readings really resonated with them. The episode they submitted was about two hours long because they interviewed two amazing women in their quest to know more and better understand the ideas they read about. After listening to the episode I decided it would be better to split the episode into two episodes so that I could honor the work they did and share their conversations in full with limited edits.

In this first episode Eli, Kat, and Linda meet with Dr. Alejandra Elenes, Chair and Professor in the Department of Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at UTSA. Listen to hear her story and talk about spiritual activism and nepantla.
