Jimmy Cocking heads up the Arid Lands Environment Centre, but only when he’s not directing energy down the myriad of other channels along his equilibrium of environmental integrity. I wanted to talk to him about fracking, amongst the other climatic challenges facing desert communities. The climate is an alarming emergency that for most of the world is happening in slow motion. For some people though, who are responding with maximum and all-consuming urgency, it’s a constant firefight accelerating at a disturbing pace. Jimmy Cocking is one of these people.
