Interviewing Steve Portigal
Manage episode 430423268 series 2832464
I talked with one of the great references in UX Research about his two books: "Interviewing Users" with the recent release of the second edition, in which two new chapters were added (and Steve shared a gift with us to get to know them on this episode), as well as "Doorbells, Danger, and Dead Batteries: User Research War Stories," a collection of complex and lived stories gathered over years of execution.
We also discussed whether UX Design is Art, and we shared our opinions on the curation and creativity required in our discipline, as well as the kind of collaboration that should exist between Researchers and Designers for a collaborative synergy focused on creating with data, from his long succeded career experiences.
Finally, we talked about the origin of his podcast "Dollar to Donuts," how it impacted the lives of other colleagues, and its influence on the creation of this podcast per se.
