A discussion about the importance of establishing welder training programs expected student learning outcomes (W-PSLO’s). W-PSLO’s determine the type of instruction when centered around the use of the appropriate welding standards or code. The program and student learning outcomes are then aligned within the programs construct. Ask the question: Did the students learning out come match the expectations established at the beginning of the program and to what degree? Standards dictate the the training equipment, curriculum, and methods of assessment.
