Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch. (Genesis 6:14)
Noah covered the Ark inside and out with pitch to make it waterproof. To seal up the cracks between the boards so that the rain stays on the outside. Everyone is safe inside the Ark from the storm and the waves on the outside.
Christ’s blood covers the Church just like the pitch covered the Ark. The storm and waves still beat against the Church today. Christ’s blood covers the Church, giving salvation and refuge to all who enter with faith. Christ’s blood covers every individual Christian through Baptism.
Christ makes you stormproof through the water and His blood. The world’s storms and waves may crash and break against you, but you will not fall because of your faith in Christ. Amen.
