Mae’r bennod hon yn gyfle i ni fyfyrio ynghylch y berthynas rhwng llenyddiaeth Gymraeg a llenyddiaeth gyfandirol wrth i ni drafod y cam nesaf yn natblygiad y chwedloniaeth Arthuraidd. Beth am y chwedlau ‘brodorol’ Cymraeg hynny sy’n dangos dylanwad llenyddiaeth Ffrangeg? Sut mae canfod creadigaethau artistig sydd wedi’u hadeiladu ar sylfeini Cymreig traddodiadol ond sydd hefyd yn ddyledus mewn modd amlwg iawn i ddylanwadau ‘estron’? Awgrymwn fod hanes roc-an-rôl yn cynnig cymhariaeth hylaw. A beth yw’r gwahaniaethau rhwng yr hen fyd Arthuraidd Cymreig a’r llenyddiaeth gyfandirol hon? A yw’r Arthur Cymreig-Ewropeaidd hwn yn nes o lawer at y darlun Hollywoodaidd o’r brenin arwrol? // Rock and Roll and the Welsh-European Arthur This episode provides an opportunity for us to think about the relationship between Welsh literature and continental literature as we discuss the next step in the development of Arthurian legendry. What about those ‘native’ Welsh tales which were influenced by French literature? How do we perceive artistic creations which were constructed on traditional Welsh foundations but which are also indebted in a very obvious way to ‘foreign’ influences? We suggest that the history of rock and roll provides a useful comparison. And what are the differences between the old Welsh Arthurian world and this continental literature? Is this Welsh-European Arthur a lot closer to Hollywood’s version of the heroic king? Cyflwynwyd gan: Yr Athro Jerry Hunter a'r Athro Richard Wyn Jones Cynhyrchwyd gan: Richard Martin Cerddoriaeth: Might Have Done gan The Molenes Dilynwch ni ar Trydar: http://www.twitter.com/YrHenIaith Tanysgrifwch yn eich hoff ap podlediadau neu ar YouTube i derbyn y pennod nesaf ar cyhoeddiad.
