据网易科技报道，被苹果盯上的公司绝不止微信一个。如果你使用iPhone手机或者iPad平板，那么你在资讯类、付费问答、直播平台等客户端内，要给作者赞赏或者给主播打赏，你将不能使用微信或支付宝等流行的第三方支付方式，而必须通过苹果应用商店（App Store）的“应用内购买”机制进行。
5月19日，华尔街日报称，据微信及其他公司的高管透露，苹果已 经通知几个中国社交网络应用，根据App Store的规定，要求它们禁用赞赏功能，并认为小费相当于应用内购买，和购买游戏、音乐、视频相似，每一笔应用内购买交易苹果都会抽取30%的分成，小费也应该分成。
上述报道称，苹果告诉两家公司的CEO，说它们如果拒绝做出改变，应用将无法升级到新版本，甚至有可能被App Store除名。
