So many people are dealing with Vulvovaginal issues such as vulvodynia and vaginitis. I wanted to bring an expert on to share some insights on these conditions. So I reached out to Beth DuPriest, PhD the Chief Science Officer over at Vaginal Biome Science. Her insight on this topic is deep and she is so committed to helping people that suffer with vulvovaginal disorders

About our guest:
Beth DuPriest is the Chief Science Officer for Vaginal Biome Science. In this work, she leads the scientific vision for women’s health research. Vaginal Biome Science runs clinical studies to test how improving the vaginal microbiome can improve a wide variety of vulvovaginal conditions. They also do research and development work to develop and refine over-the-counter products to give agency for women in taking control of their own vaginal health. Beth is a former Professor of Biology and Division Dean and has been involved in research related to developmental origins of health and disease for over twenty years. Her PhD in Integrated Biomedical Sciences through the Dept. of Physiology & Pharmacology and post doctoral work through the Dept. of Pathology were completed at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Her work has been focused on both women’s and maternal health. She has taught courses in microbiology, eukaryotic cell biology,
genetics, biochemistry and pathophysiology among many others. She brings a broad background in women’s health and biological science and strong leadership and collaborative skills to advancing the work and discovery of vaginal microbiome science. In her free time, she enjoys short hikes in the woods and playing with her two dogs and cat.
