Hives for Heroes is a national military veteran non-profit organization focusing on honey bee conservation, and a healthy transition from service. Through the national network of beekeepers, and veterans, they provide connection, purpose, and healthy relationships fostering a lifelong hobby in beekeeping. Steve, and his team, are connecting heroes, military veterans, and first responders interested in beekeeping with experienced beekeepers in their local community. We talk about the importance beekeeping plays in our environment, and how veterans can be stewards for these amazing creatures. Steve talks about the relationship between the beekeeper newbie and mentor, how it transcends the hobby, and how it supports the veteran community. He describes Hives for Heroes as a "People" organization that's into Bees. So grab a buddy and venture into the hive with this week's episode.
