Situated in north Florida, just south of the intersection between Interstates 10 and 75, is the town of Lake City. Formerly known as Alligator Village by the Seminoles, it became a major railroad hub in the early 20th century. Its influence is starting to rise again with Halpatter Brewing--Lake City's only brewery and a significant player in the north Florida beer scene. In their historic building, we sat down with co-founders Chris Candler and Jeremy Gable to talk about building their brewery, the importance of Lake City to the Halpatter story, and some of the more colorful stories that they have had to endure in their relatively short existence.
