In this episode my guest and friend of thirty years, Dr. Toni Wadley shares how the Enneagram can be used as an incredibly effective tool for inner work. She shares how each type has a particular vice and how, once you know your Enneagram type, you can work with your vice to embark on a life-changing journey towards your virtue.

We talk about:

  • Exactly what inner work is and who should be doing it (spoiler alert, not everyone)
  • The ways in which your thoughts, feelings, fears and behaviours impact your life
  • Unearthing your own unique operating system with the Enneagram to improve your relationships
  • How to start to observe your own behaviour and empower yourself to choose your moment to moment responses more effectively
  • Getting curious about your triggers and using them as part of your self-discovery journey
  • How your personality formed as a defensive structure and the process of working with it to understand yourself better
  • What the Enneagram is (it's more than just a personality test) and how to use it
  • Each Enneagram type’s particular emotional vice and (where the real inner work happens) growth edge:
  1. Type 1 - Anger to serenity
  2. Type 2 - Pride (indispensable) to humility
  3. Type 3 - Self deceit to veracity
  4. Type 4 - Envy to equanimity
  5. Type 5 - Avarice to non-attachment
  6. Type 6 - Fear to courage
  7. Type 7 - Gluttony to sobriety
  8. Type 8 - Lust to innocence
  9. Type 9 - Sloth to right action
