German Description (English below)
Gast: Aleida Assmann

English Description
Guest: Aleida Assmann

In view of the historical and systematic diversity of wisdom traditions, Aleida Assmann has tried to make the points of the compass of wisdom understandings clearer with the help of a compass.
At the four poles are four literary figures. King Solomon embodies the wisdom of judgment. Prospero, the magician who wants to know what holds the world together at its core. Polonius represents the doctrinal wisdom of proverbs. Jaques, finally, is the wise fool who knows about the fleeting nature of the world and of life and always points out our vanity.
