Four practical exercises to manage uncomfortable thoughts and anxious thinking. One of the most effective ways we can manage unhelpful thoughts is by using a psychological tool called ‘defusion’, a technique from a mindfulness based approach to helping anxiety called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
