Episode Notes

With the introduction of new weight loss drugs like Semaglutide, Wegovy, and other GLP1 medications, it seems like everyone is losing weight these days, including many of the previously loud and proud anti-diet influencers.

In this episode, we’re diving into the deep end as we discuss the relationship between body positivity, fat acceptance, and the nuanced conversation around health, weight loss, and self-love.

This episode talks about what it means that Tess Holiday and other Body Positive influencers are suddenly on a diet and how to navigate feelings of betrayal while figuring out how to be your OWN influencer.

Body positivity isn’t what mainstream media tells us it is and it’s not for everyone in every situation. You should be able to experience positive or at least neutral feelings about your body, but what does that mean from a behavioral standpoint?

We’re going to break down what actually does feel positive and what is straight up body positive gas lighting that may give you relief from the social pressures of being thin, but isn’t telling you the truth about the consequences of saying that none of this matters.

Maybe weight loss isn't such a dirty word after all?
