Why does it feel like I am the only mom that has this issue? I have never heard another mother speak on this topic of financial dependency and that has made me feel very torn and like I am the only stahm that has a husband earning just enough to support us.
This has lead to me questioning our decision to stay home with the kids and is it selfish to have my husband working so hard while I am 'just home.'
But then being "just home" seems to me that it can easily be more exhausting than working a job, or two even. Because as a stay-at-home mom, we clean, do laundry, cook, care for our kids, manage finances, do grocery shopping, plan and prep for all events, and that is 7 jobs I just mentioned that people get hired and get paid to do.
I have struggled with my self-worth because I was stripped of my identity which I had created. I equated my self-worth with my accomplishments and income. But when I had my kids all of that went away along with my self-worth which caused me to constantly question myself as a mom, wife, and entrepreneur.
I don't want the same for you. We are worth so much, we do so much, and we are so amazing yet we feel so belittled because of our role as a stay-at-home moms and I'm tired of sticking to that narrative.
I am here to acknowledge you, other mamas. I want to love and support you through this, so thanks for joining me in Today's conversation!
