066 :: A Deep Dive Into Cardi B's 'WAP' - Is The Sexual Liberation & Empowerment Movement Actually Liberating Us OR Is It Harming Us? Featuring Kayla Michelle
Manage episode 270047570 series 2601739
Welcome back to another episode!
Today’s conversation is controversial, it’s taboo, and it’s also straight FIRE. I invited my friend, Kayla Michelle, on to talk more about Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s latest song ‘WAP’ and unpack the energies, themes, & meanings behind it - as well as what this means for our current culture around “sexual liberation & empowerment.”
Together, we talk about a lot on BOTH sides of this song & what it represents - both being all for female sexuality & goddess energy AND the very real implications of what this means for our society & where we’re headed as a culture. IS it liberating us or is it harming us? Is our sexual liberation paving the way for child exploitation? Or is it giving young people PERMISSION to be expressed in their sexuality unlike those of us who grew up with such shame around our bodies & our pleasure? When is the right age for that? What are the limits, boundaries, and consent conversations coming into play?
SO MUCH TO UNPACK IN THIS EPISODE. And we pray that it invites you into deeper conversation & sitting with the curiosities around it in your own life as well.
