Timur has been working with wine for a year and half. He started his career at the neo-nomadic restaurant Auyl in the Medeu mountain district of Kazakhstan as a junior sommelier, after which he started working at the AGORA wine bar, where he gained most of his knowledge and prepared for the Italian Wine Ambassador exam.

Guest Bio – Alberto Tanzini

Alberto Tanzini worked in finance in London for several years before heading back to his native Italy to become a winemaker. He acquired the Roccapesta estate in 2003.

Roccapesta was founded in 1974 and is a leading winery in the Morellino di Scansano denomination. Roccapesta wines are born from production techniques that are in close continuity with the Maremma winemaking tradition: the vineyards are cultivated with organic management and for fermentation only indigenous yeasts are used, without the addition of oenological additives or the use of chemical substances. Long fermentations, refinements in large barrels and prolonged periods in the bottle are the cornerstones of a production philosophy aimed at obtaining elegant, long-lived, powerful and structured wines.
