What married woman hasn't thought of killing her husband? So begins Geraldine Donaher's brand new book, Still. The book starts with a bang and never lets go. Donaher's coming of age, first novel covers her leaving the convent, her fierce independence, and the heartbreaking loss of her first born son through the main character, Nikki. The stage is set in Philadelphia and the New Jersey shore which lends a nostalgic backdrop for those from the tri-county area but all readers can appreciate the yearnings and struggle of Nikki. This is one of those books that hooked me from the first sentence. No dinner was made and no laundry was cleaned for a few days.
Gerri and I speak about the book but also about Gerri's publishing process. Anyone who has dreamed of writing a book will enjoy Gerri's determination to share her story with the world.
