Gravy shares stories of the changing American South through the foods we eat. Gravy showcases a South that is constantly evolving, accommodating new immigrants, adopting new traditions, and lovingly maintaining old ones. It uses food as a means to explore all of that, to dig into lesser-known corners of the region, complicate stereotypes, document new dynamics, and give voice to the unsung folk who grow, cook, and serve our daily meals.

Taking you back to - 1/19/20010 - Being featured this week are the co-founders of the “Officially” unofficial band of the BBQ Central Show, 3 Years Hollow. Lead singer Jose Urquiza and then lead guitarist Tony Reeves, joined me for the first time and we talked about their journey into music, who inspired them and what it was like trying to break into the industry at that time. You might recall, a little over a year ago, Jose actually sat in as a guest judge for the final season of BBQCS American Idol…the season that I won!
This was a very fun interview to do and listening back to it a week or so ago, it was great to hear it again and also its fun to get outside the box of the normal conversation of BBQ and Grilling and get some perspective on other industries…especially one that most of us have dreamed of doing at one point in our life…who wouldn't want to be a rockstar?
I still use 3YH music to this day and I am a huge fan of all of ther music. If you are into that Sevendust, Breaking Ben, Chevelle type music…but in their own voice…I suggest giving them a search in Spotify…all their music is there and it’s really good!!
Ready to make a “BEST OF” show all your own?? Email Jon Solberg and let him know what you would like to hear on a future episode! As always, thank you for listening!
